FAQ: PRIVATE HOUSE CONCERT
Love in a Time of Quarantine

A house concert is when an artist performs a private concert in a space not usually equipped for concerts; for example, in a private home. It’s a fairly common format in the US, UK, or Germany, and it is always a very special experience. A house concert offers you and your guests the opportunity to enjoy an intimate concert with one of your favorite artists. If you are a fan of live music, you will love this unique kind of event!

Why offer this “reward” as a part of our crowdfunding campaign? Sadly, all concerts in public spaces have been canceled through midsummer in the best of cases, and some through autumn or winter. Others won’t be until 2021. This way, you’ll have the opportunity to see one of your favorite artists live (not through a screen!) and a small gathering with your loved ones after so much time in quarantine — while at the same time supporting the musicians involved in our solidarity project.

Though most of your contribution portion will be paid directly to the artist, a percentage also goes to support the solidarity project Love in a Time of Quarantine.

A concert like this is usually lasts between an hour to 75 minutes, and is played without amplification (or very little). The show must be arranged at a time and date that suits the host of the event (you!) and according to the availability of the artist. You can invite whoever you want, as long as you have space — it’s your show, after all! You have the option of offering drinks or snacks to your guests, or asking that everyone bring something — it’s pretty much like having a party at home, but with the added element of live music. But don’t worry, we’ll explain everything in the confirmation email. 

After you’ve reserved your private concert, we will email you a receipt for your payment, along with a few tips and tricks on the best way to host a house concert. The artist will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the date and other details, always with respect to government and health authority recommendations regarding COVID-19 prevention. And of course, if you still have questions you can always send us a message.
