American singer-songwriter Tori Sparks brings Nashville to Barcelona, with a vermut concert in the format "in the round” at the beautiful El Teatre El Siglo in the Mercantic vintage village in Sant Cugat.
This style of show is typical of Music City, but is almost completely unknown in Barcelona. Three singer-songwriters — sometimes friends and collaborators, sometimes total strangers — go on stage together and trade off playing their original material.
Spontaneous collaborations, audience participation, the story behind the song, premieres of new songs... in these concerts pretty much anything can happen. It’s an opportunity to hear your favorite artists share their music in an intimate setting, while discovering other talented artists you’d never heard of before. Prepare yourself for a very special live music experience.
The featured artists in this thirteenth edition are Virginia Maestro — the Andalusian singer-songwriter known for winning over fans on the 6th edition of Operación Triunfo— and Serbian blues and jazz guitarist and composer, Dusan Jevtovic.
The concert is free with entry to the Mercantic village. Seating is limited.

Este tipo de concierto, típico de Music City pero casi totalmente desconocido en Barcelona, es cuando tres cantautores — a veces amigos y colaboradores, a veces desconocidos — suben juntos al escenario y ofrecen temas propios en acústico.
Colaboraciones espontáneas, la participación del público, la historia detrás de la canción, estrenos de temas recién nacidos... en estos conciertos puede pasar casi cualquier cosa! When we were in Madrid in 2019 for the live presentation of our album ‘Wait No More,’ I had a meeting with the people at the B Travel headquarters about the possibility of a collaboration with their company, and offer a kind of customized travel experience exploring the cities of Nashville, Memphis, and New Orleans, exploring the roots of American music, and sharing the fascinating — sometimes surprising — stories behind blues, jazz, country, gospel, rock, and beyond. 🎸✈️
These B Travel “Xperiences” offer people the opportunity to travel alongside an expert in their field, whether they’re accompanying an archaeologist into the depths of a dig in Egypt, or learning about microbiology with a scientist on a ship to Antarctica. 🌎
Six years and lots of planning later — there was a tiny pandemic in the middle that delayed things 😅 — we're finally ready to announce the trip! For 9 days, we’ll be exploring the heart of these three magical cities, visiting places like Congo Square in New Orleans (quite literally the place where the blues was born! 💙) and the French Quarter, famous blues clubs in Memphis where artists like Elvis and BB King performed, the historic songwriter clubs in Nashville where people like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson 🤠 and so many more performed as young artists, the crossroads where Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the devil 😈🎵 Clarksdale, Natchez and other stops along the way.
There will also be a Spanish-speaking tour guide along for the ride. 🤘🏼 (Not me — I’m there to talk about the music! He or she will be there to explain other interesting tidbits and make sure the trip goes smoothly.) I’ve given talks and shared these stories many times at schools, universities, and music conferences, but this is something that promises to be completely different. And as I haven’t been back to these lovely cities in years, I’m especially looking forward to it! 😃

This is NOT a typical "touristy” trip. We’ve worked hard to make it something special, a unique experience packed with incredible music, great Southern cooking 🍗 local legends, history, and adventures that you won’t find anywhere else.
