American singer-songwriter Tori Sparks brings Nashville to Barcelona, with a vermut concert in the format "in the round” at the beautiful El Teatre El Siglo in the Mercantic vintage village in Sant Cugat.
This style of show is typical of Music City, but is almost completely unknown in Barcelona. Three singer-songwriters — sometimes friends and collaborators, sometimes total strangers — go on stage together and trade off playing their original material. It is the most stripped-down, raw, intimate format possible for an artist: Alone, presenting his or her music with just one acoustic instrument and voice.
Spontaneous collaborations, audience participation, the story behind the song, premieres of new songs... in these concerts pretty much anything can happen. It’s an opportunity to hear your favorite artists share their music in an intimate setting, while discovering other talented artists you’d never heard of before. The seventh edition of Barcelona in the Round features country-rock singer-songwriter Joel Reyes, versatile bluesman Martín Burguez, and Tori Sparks, with her unique blend of rock, blues, and flamenco fusion.

TORI SPARKS
Tori Sparks was born in Chicago, and later lived and recorded in Nashville. Since the age of 18 she has played an average of 150 concerts each year in 24 countries. Herr last three albums area surprising mix of her native rock, blues, and American roots music with flamenco fusion, called "a flawless fusion of styles" (La Vanguardia), "adventurous, pushing the envelope" (Rolling Stone), and “pure art” (Los Conciertos de Radio3). Sparks’ songs have since been heard in commercials and television series, such as the Netflix show SkyRojo. She is known for her powerful voice and her great talent for improvising live onstage.
JOEL REYES
Joel Reyes is a “working class hero” of music: always seeking something fresh, always writing new material, always seeking to share an authentic perspective. Twelve albums, three EP's and several singles have seen the light of day since he first began his career 30 years ago, and Reyes’ latest work, El Blues del Perdedor (20/30/50), is an homage to everything he has learned along the way. The compilation album will feature his most beloved tunes plus several new ones, and will be released on double vinyl and and double CD, along with some other surprises.
MARTÍN BURGUEZ
From Montevideo, Uruguay, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and today a resident of Barcelona, bluesman Martín Burguez is approaching 20 years of his musical career. Guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer, he deepens his style both in the great masters like T-Bone Walker or B.B. King, with great influences of jazz, swing or R & B from the 30s, 40s and 50s. He has been part of different projects until forming Martín Burguez & El Club del Jump, with which he has released three albums. He currently collaborates with the most beloved artists of the national blues scene, such as Dani Nel.lo, Victor Puertas, among others.

Este tipo de concierto, típico de Music City pero casi totalmente desconocido en Barcelona, es cuando tres cantautores — a veces amigos y colaboradores, a veces desconocidos — suben juntos al escenario y ofrecen temas propios en acústico. Es el formato más básico, más expuesto, mas desnudo posible para un/a artista: Es una persona sola con su instrumento y su voz.
Colaboraciones espontáneas, la participación del público, la historia detrás de la canción, estrenos de temas recién nacidos... en estos conciertos puede pasar casi cualquier cosa! La cantautora y productora nació en la ciudad del Blues, Chicago. Desde los 18 años, ha tocado un promedio de 150 conciertos cada año en 24 países. Sus últimos tres álbumes son una sorprendente mezcla de sus estilos nativos del rock, el blues, y el country con flamenco fusión, llamados "una fusión impecable de estilos" (La Vanguardia), "valiente, arriesgado" (Rolling Stone), y "arte puro" (Los Conciertos de Radio3). Desde entonces, sus canciones han formado parte de anuncios y series, cómo en la serie SkyRojo (Netflix, 2021). Es conocida por su chorro de voz y su gran talento para la improvisación en directo.

Su último trabajo, El Blues del Perdedor (20/30/50), es un homenaje a todo lo que ha aprendido en el camino. El álbum recopilatorio contará con sus temas más queridos y varias canciones nuevas. Se lanzará en doble vinilo y doble CD, junto con algunas otras sorpresas.

Desde Montevideo, Uruguay, a Buenos Aires, Argentina, y hoy en día residente de Barcelona, el bluesman Martín Burguez está rondando los 20 años de su carrera musical. Guitarrista, cantante, compositor y productor, profundiza su estilo tanto en los grandes maestros como T- Bone Walker o B.B. King, con grandes influencias de jazz, swing o R&B. Ha formando parte de distintos proyectos hasta formar Martín Burguez & El Club del Jump, con el que ha editado tres discos. Actualmente colabora con los artistas más queridos de la escena de blues nacional, tal y como Dani Nel.lo, Victor Puertas, entre otros.
